In 2023, we launched Potencia UP to take a more hands-on approach to building our direct investment pipeline: a fellowship for early-stage founders in education and the future of work. After two editions in Brazil, we are now rolling out the third across Spanish-speaking Latin America.
Potencia UP is designed for entrepreneurs committed to serving low-income populations. It offers a structured path – combining content, clear milestones, and individualized support – to help founders focus on the decisions and actions that matter most.
Starting with the second edition in 2025, the program now unfolds in three phases. It begins with a digital track, developed with Artemisia, where a broad group of entrepreneurs accelerate their businesses in a shared learning environment. From there, 20 founders are selected for a more intensive, personalized phase focused on product-market fit and tailored fundraising preparation. In the final phase, companies that meet our investment criteria enter due diligence. We aim to invest in at least two companies per cohort, while also strengthening skills, networks, and collaboration across the broader field.
Each edition culminates in Potencia Day, bringing together entrepreneurs, investors, and field builders in education and the future of work. It reflects a core part of how we operate: combining complementary perspectives, open debate, and shared resources to achieve more together than we could individually.
